Doing the Fieldwork

Ricky and Steve worked together in 'Bankside Hostel' to gather data about how residents were feeling about moving from the hostel into more independent living spaces. When researchers go into a location in order to try to understand the situation better, this is called fieldwork. Different fieldwork methods include interviewing and carrying out observations. In this case, the researchers supported the residents of the hostel in taking photographs about their old and new homes.
